RENOBENCH / HOW WE WORK

Clearer numbers.
Better project conversations.

RenoBench is a collection of browser-based tools for organizing home renovation costs, comparing alternatives, and checking what is inside a project budget.

A carpenter's square, wood block, tile sample, and navy notebook on a sunlit workbench.

THE SHORT ANSWER

The tools calculate from the measurements, prices, quotes, and expenses you enter. They do not inspect properties, generate verified local contractor quotes, or certify a project as safe or compliant. Sample values are fictional demonstrations.

What you can do here.

Plan a bathroom budget, calculate tile cartons, compare DIY and contractor costs, review up to three written quotes, and organize planned and actual project costs. Each worksheet has a defined purpose and a visible explanation of its calculations.

Use the specialist tools to refine a quantity or compare an option. Then record the relevant amount once in your general project budget. The tools do not automatically synchronize their saved worksheets.

Why the inputs stay editable.

A project changes as you select products, clarify scope, and receive proposals. An editable worksheet lets you revise the plan without pretending an early number is a final price.

Material quantities, labor, extra costs, taxes, and reserves need different assumptions. Keeping them separate helps you identify missing information and avoid double counting.

What RenoBench does not claim.

RenoBench is not presented as a contractor, inspector, designer, tax adviser, or licensing authority. These pages do not claim professional credentials, a contractor review network, or a verified nationwide price database.

A total can be mathematically correct while the underlying scope is incomplete. Check product requirements, local rules, property conditions, and project decisions with the appropriate people.

Your records remain your responsibility.

The Save controls use local browser storage. Saved data does not automatically appear on another device and may be removed if browser data is cleared. CSV export and browser printing let you make an independent copy.

A worksheet is a summary of your inputs. Keep receipts, invoices, product details, and written proposals separately. The current tools do not reconcile bills, process payments, or store uploaded documents.

How to assess the information.

Start with the methodology on the relevant tool page. It explains what the total includes and what is left out. Guides help you interpret those inputs; they do not substitute for a property-specific assessment.

Read our Methodology and Editorial Policy for the standards used in the worksheets and supporting content. For questions or corrections, email contact@renobench.com or use our contact form.

PRACTICAL QUESTIONS

A few useful clarifications.

Are the sample prices current market rates?

No. They demonstrate the calculations and are labeled fictional. Replace them with prices and quotes for your project.

Is RenoBench a contractor directory?

No. The current tools organize your own project inputs and quotes. They do not verify, rank, or endorse service providers.

Keep planning with RenoBench.
